"Hit them with the Truth right between the eyes!" Christians are often not very good at sharing truth. Ever had someone steamroll you with that new thing they learned? Ever seen someone blast another…
This would be one of them in the sense that I have screwed this up pretty well throughout my life in, you know, growing in something, learning something new, learning something new about about my heavenly father and getting really excited about it.
And instead of sprinkling my speech with a little bit of salt, taking the whole darn salt shaker and shoving it down the person's throat and thinking just in my personal excitement and thinking I'm doing them a great service.
And then suffering relationally because of that, because of my own stupidity, not because of them.
I mean, their response would be the natural response of somebody cram something on me.
And then they would respond in a not so kind way because they don't understand, haven't grown in it, haven't received it, and I'm not communicating in a very relational way with them.
And so they would sometimes say things like, I think you're a false teacher or something like that.
And sad that some of those relationships is not fully recovered because of my own stupidity and immaturity and sharing those things.
But at the same time, we know that You know, Scripture does talk about sharing the truth in love, which is a highly abused verse.
How do you handle... sharing truth with other people, things you're growing in, things you're learning about Father, but in a way that is life-giving and appropriate.
There's been times where I call putting on the bomb suit, where Lily and I joke about this, because in a marriage that is, we've been married 34 years, you learn there are moments where we have to put on what we call the bomb suit.
