My husband and I were newlyweds.
Acoma is the oldest continuously inhabited community in our country, dating back to approximately 1,150 or 1150.
I don't know how I guess you would say that colloquially.
Fair enough, I guess.
No disrespect to my St. Augustinians.
She continues, I didn't know anything about it going in, just that it was known as a really interesting place to see in New Mexico.
Tours are given by members of the Pueblo.
We started by walking into the church before the tour began.
It was a very large adobe building.
There were only a few rows of pews and a small altar and art on the back wall, so fairly spartan inside.
I got about halfway into the building when my ears closed up, like when I get tinnitus.
I felt like they were suctioned closed, like I was underwater.
I could hear screaming.
I felt like someone had their hands on my shoulders.
