Join The Guys as they attempt to balance serious industry analysis with the realization that they’re mostly just two adults screaming into the digital void. Between dissecting why modern gaming…
What have you been playing, Jason?
Actually, I was pretty productive in my game playing for being summer and gorgeous and I should be outside a lot more.
You wouldn't
be a gamer if you touched grass.
true true true i uh uh started and finished uh star wars outlaws uh which i slept on pretty hardcore just because of the mixed reviews and whatnot and i was just like yeah ubisoft has already kind of like the bed multiple times with me so i was just like i don't really feel like getting another chore game which they are so tedious about doing and making these games just like there's like a billion things for you to collect and do all over the place it's just like i don't care and it's all like the same thing over and over again Outlaws wasn't exactly a far departure from that, but they feel like they did it a lot better.
Each of the repeat things you have to do felt unique enough that it felt like, okay, this is kind of cool.
It wasn't like Assassin's Creed or anything like that, where you have like, here's this pile of base, and the enemies are going to be in this base pretty well the same, and we're going to copy and paste that across the entire map of everywhere that we can possibly do.
Here it's just like, hey, yeah, here's something you have to do, sneaking in, whatever like that.
But each base was very different.
You didn't know where everything was.
It was kind of fun to kind of get through.
There's reasons to do it rather than just clear it all out.
It was also a very heavy stealth game.
I didn't realize that it was a stealth game when I first looked into this.
Obviously, I didn't give it much time because they also highlight the battles and stuff like that.
You don't have to battle shit.
I mean, there's a few, obviously, times you have to.
But if you're in complete control, you can sneak around and do it all completely stealthy.
And I'm a sucker for stealth games.
I think it's a lot of fun.
And they gave you a little bit more ability, abilities and like skills to make that a little bit more rewarding.
Storyline was blah.
I'm not going to say it was anything amazing.
It was refreshing to have a Star Wars game that had nothing to do with honestly anything to do with Star Wars, with Jedi or Skywalker or anything like that.
Tons of Easter eggs and hidden stuff.
