I b- I think that the Rebbe wanted desperately that Lubavitcher bachurim should compete with and outshine Litvisher bachurim in every aspect of learning Limudah.

But I, I remember, this is an incident that happened in America Shlichus.

So I went to the state of Illinois with Shmarya Schus- Shmarya Schusterman.

So there was a Rosh Yeshiva, his name was Rav Chaim Shachnovitz, who was a Talmud of the Rogatchover, a, a big gaon.

So I, I f- I found one of the sefarim in the library in seven seventy, and I pr- I prepared an Inyan from that sefer.

And when I came to him, I told him that his Chiddush, I told him, I said, "This is-- I heard you wrote this and this." He was so delighted that someone looked in his sefer and was able to repeat what is in the sefer.

Then I see he's writing something, so I'm asking him, "What are you writing on?" He says he's writing on, on Masechtah Menachos.

And Menachos is where it talks about tefillin, and I had a pilpul on, on Hilchas Tefillin.
