My name is Alan Williams, and today my guest is Shannon Kyles, an architectural historian who taught for many years at Mohawk College and is the author of the 2025 book, The Story of Ontario Architecture, What We Built and Why We Built It.

And we're going to explore the question of how architecture can help us understand the the history of our communities today.

This is a little different.

We're usually interviewing people who are writers of history books or someone who's involved in historical things directly.

But I think architecture is an interesting way to understand history from a different perspective.
