Uh, the first one is do you think it's true that your phone 1,000% listens to you? Oh, not just 1,000%, it's like one million percent.
It's for sure.
To my disappointment, it didn't, so I was like, "Okay, this is just a conspiracy theory." Couple days later, something about teddy bears popped up.
[gasps]
So it's w-
[laughs] [screams] [clicking] Hey, Tableau.
[laughs]
[laughs]
But seriously, phones are listening to us.
I mean, that's how...
I mean, they, they package it as, like, it's for you.
You know, it's for the user.
It's for the user experience.
Like, it, it... that's how they, uh, you know, personalize ads to us, uh, by listening in.
Like, they say they're listening in, but it's, like, anonymous, you know, which doesn't really make sense.
The- they don't, like, know that it's you, but they know that, you know, it's someone who likes teddy bears.
It's someone who likes, um, like, who's looking for a new bag for back to school, who... someone who's trying to buy a new, uh, new tablet.
You know, they know that for sure, and then they market it towards you, right? And, and then they say, you know, "This is for you," s- because, like, it eliminates the need for you to go online and search for things, right? So i- it makes your life convenient.
Uh, but most terrible things have been done in the name of convenience or, um, for your benefit.
You know, you know how parents, like, when we were growing up, uh, it...
the only times they would say, "It's for you.
I'm doing this for you," like, "This is, this is good for you," it's usually, like, when it's something that is terrible or that we don't want.
Like, th- they're not gonna say, "It's good for you," when they're giving you brownies or, um, you know, like, very sweet candy or, or something just delicious.
They're not gonna say it because it's... you know, you don't care.
