Day 20 of Gutted Horror Podcast's 31 Nights of 31 Frights!
Tonight we're taking on BLOOD SALVAGE (1990), also known as MAD JAKE, a backwoods horror oddity about a Bible-preaching mechanic and his sons, who kidnap people and sell their organs after performing gruesome medical experiments.
We're discussing the film's grimy B-movie atmosphere, rural exploitation, twisted family dynamics, and its strange blend of horror and dark comedy. With John Saxon and Ray Walston among the cast, this is another unusual deep cut from 1990 genre cinema.
Spoilers begin after our initial reactions, followed by the Gutted Awards, our Blockbuster & Letterboxd ratings, and final thoughts.
31 Nights. 31 Frights. All from 1990.
