Do the Grizzlies have the worst best player in the NBA? (Guest: Chris Herrington)

So let's start here as we search desperately, as all Grizzlies content creators search for topics.

Let's actually start with NBA news that occurred in the last 24 hours.

We're recording this on Thursday, August 20th.

The Nuggets traded Peyton Watson, did a sign-and-trade with the Cavaliers.

I'll ask you, should the Grizzlies have gotten involved in this and maybe sent out one of their 12 tradable first-round picks? Yeah, maybe.

Peyton Watson.

When you look at that deal, it certainly seems like something the Grizzlies potentially could have pulled off themselves, right? The Nuggets are trying to get off the money and get a pick.

The Grizzlies can get them off the money clean and give them a pick.

The Grizzlies could have even incentivized it a little bit more.

They could have taken back Zeke Nagy.

I mean, the Grizzlies could have taken back more money in various ways.

I like Peyton Watson, and I would have been interested in maybe doing that.

I don't think Peyton Watson is the ideal fit necessarily with a boozer-eaty coward, if you're committed to boozer-eaty coward.

And I'm not convinced Peyton Watson will ultimately be better than any of those guys.

I don't know if I would predict that.

So if you're committed to that as your core, I don't know if he's an ideal fit because I think Howard is a three, not a two.

And Boozer is clearly a four and he's clearly a five.

So I don't know if it's an ideal fit.

And then you think about, well, it's not an ideal fit.

And now we're going to pay Peyton Watson.

I think the Peyton Watson deal is actually fine, the contract.

But we're going to start adding extensions to these other guys on top of that.

I might have done it anyway just from a talent standpoint, and I'll sort it out later.

So I think, depending on the pick situation, I might have done that.

I would not have ruled that out at all from the Grizzlies.
