10-11-26 A One Candidate Debate

Well, first off, I spent several hours analyzing the debate.

Okay.

And my determination is you won.

Okay.

Well, I'll take that win.

We can only speculate why your opponent wasn't there.

I know she says it's because she had other things going on, but so did you.

I did.

I rescheduled that day so that we could be there.

And I've been asked the question, why can't you just acquiesce to whatever she wants? And I said, look, we both were asked to compromise.

I did.

She didn't.

And there's no other explanation for it than that.

There is an issue, though, with her dates, the dates she requested were after early voting already started.

Correct.

And our goal was to get a debate before early voting started so people could have something to contrast.

And they said, well, why don't you just go ahead and debate her anyway on the 12th, 13th, 14th? Well, those were the three dates that we put in our calendar that said we just don't have these available because we're in a southeastern New Mexico tour at that time.

And there's been a lot of plans made.

And so we could not reschedule all of that.

But we were able to reschedule the 8th.

And so we said, great, let's just do the 8th.

And we moved our calendar and we compromised.

We originally asked for the 4th or the 5th.
