Ray Methvin here, and I'm joined by Pam Armstrong.

Pam is the Director of Economic Development at the Bedford County, Virginia Office of Economic Development.

Pam, welcome to the podcast.

So let- let's move on to our, our next, which is Destination Wairarapa and Wellington NZ.

And we'll just touch base on this a little bit, because we had an agreement around the table at our recent mayoral forum that we are going to conduct a, a independent review into our economic development in the Wairarapa.

Mm.

And especially moving forward towards amalgamation, we need to, um, look at what's the best way forward for the future for economic development in the Wairarapa.

So-

It's something we get feedback on a bit where they say, "If we didn't have to present to three different councils, it might make things easier.

We'd have, um, one table to convince rather than three different tables to convince." And having things all organized at the same time, and renewals of contracts, everything like that, it all could be done much better.

So, um, yeah, we're going to do a deep dive into economic development in the Wairarapa and just how we can make that space function really well and make our region power along.

Restaurants were, were, were not around the clock venues and, and, and, individual activities, try to keep people busy, not just that night, but all that entire weekend.

And I'm hoping as the mayor, and I'm hoping as the team around economic development and growth in the city that Live Nation saw what can happen here, And we'll be back very soon.

And my sister, I told you my sisters came up from New York.

That's right.

Has your economic development department had a chance to kind of coalesce around what the number is?

They're working with the chamber and the Visit Syracuse folks to start crunching those numbers about the economic impact.

What it means that? It means that shortly, Nigeria for a long time facing terrorist problems.

and security problems and security problems not only in nigeria but in the countries is one of the most important or one of the biggest problems for the state's economic development political development so but for a long time nigeria has been one of the most important allies of the western world I believe that Turkey's role in Nigeria, in terms of security relations, as a non-Western power, as a non-Western right country, will provide a different experience for the country.

In other words, let me explain in a different way, dear Dr. Michel.

Turkey, for example, also faced the same problem for a long time, more than 30 years.

They serve as marketing and prospect mining for a lot of what we do.

So I would say the closest relationship is the Office of Economic Development and the Jax Chamber.

Hmm.

Because a lotta the, uh, I dunno where they get the names from, but, like, Project Paper, Blue Sky, all these projects you hear about and then you don't know what it is for, like, a year later, uh, our Department of, uh, or I'm sorry, our Office of Economic Development and the chamber, and every now and then other entities, work very closely to try to secure those deals, uh, to Jacksonville.

And obviously, I mean, there's a lot of deals that, um, I, I could think of and probably list them out if I had more time that, uh, it was a combination of Office of Economic Development, Jax Chamber, and other institutes, uh, that got them here.
