Raton

You can find a remote place out there.

And it's not all desert outside of Rattan, but it's got the rolling hills kind of in the shadow of the mountains.

So, I mean, it's a beautiful place.

And if you're worried about medical and health problems, they do have a health officer on site that each participant can go and see and get the, get the things they need of a serious boom.

They, they take them into Rattan.

So

I highly recommend this.

And that brewery specifically is a pretty cool family-friendly place to hang out.

I would recommend, like, if you're ever driving through Raton, I like...

It's called Colfax Ale Cellar.

I have no idea why this...

I grew up in Northeastern New Mexico.

My dad managed Vermejo Park Ranch, which is a very large ranch outside of Raton.

So at one time, it was probably the largest continuous piece of property in the United States.

So that's where I was raised.

I went to high school in Raton.

We rode a bus 45 miles one way And when I was in the eighth grade, they paved 30 miles of it.

So a highlight for us, um, younger when we were little was that snow days because they'd cancel school and, uh, we wouldn't, we wouldn't have to go.

But he built that cell barn himself with just some hands.

He bought a load of cross ties from Raton, and they brought them in on the railroad, unloaded them there at that site where he built the sail barn and built it right there.

And he actually had to build a spur because he got as close as the cattle were still coming in off the railroad lot then.

And it was coming around Clayton.

So I went with some friends, and we had over-the-counter buck tags for New Mexico.

We went down to a place called Raton, New Mexico, which is in northern New Mexico, just south of the Colorado border.

And went up, found the public ground.

We looked at maps and everything and found the public ground.

Yeah

And the rest of us were all born in Raton.

Yeah.

Right.

I see that stupid beaver, and I, I know Buc-ee's.

Do you know that when I am leaving the Undisclosed location and I get on I-25 in New Mexico, there's a sign that says, "Be patient, only 284 mi-" I forget what the mileage is, but fr- from somewhere around Raton, not even up on Raton Pass, but down on the flatlands around Raton, is a sign, "Just relax, your, your oasis is ahead, 264, 240," whatever the number of miles it is.

Buc-ee's, referring to the one up in wherever it is between Long Mountain and Loveland.

See, I don't even know where it is.
