It all comes as the eastern seaboard is already getting pummeled by a separate storm event, packing high winds and generating rough surf, with 17 million people still under coastal flood alerts and large sections of the southwest still soaked from days of downpours.

While in Texas, the El Paso Fire Department says they responded to more than 50 storm-related calls.

Those heavy downpours causing water to rush right through this apartment.

The rising waters closed roads and inundated areas.

ABC's Trevor Ault is in burn-scarred Ruidoso to the south.

This state has been in a cycle for a lot of different areas where they get hit by wildfires in the past.

That not only torches the area, it also destabilizes the soil that makes them even more vulnerable to more flash flooding and potential mudslides as well.

How has that been different from the training before for the XTERRA?

So one big thing that's, that I'm being very mindful of is I need to go out to Ruidoso and look at the course.

So that's my plan actually this weekend is to take a day, um, I'm gonna drive out on Saturday and stay over and do my, my race rehearsal where I ride the course, and then I'll do a bit of the run as well.

So I wouldn't say training has been that much different other than I'm just kind of still building off of Sleeping Giant.

So that's what I'm trying to avoid for this.

So I guess that's how I would explain it being different than before and what I'm hoping to gain in knowledge and preparation.

Well, it's nice that we live close enough that you can do a little trip down to Ruidoso to do some reconning.

This was the date he was last seen at the White Sands Missile Range.

Police said that Jeffrey was traveling to Ruidoso when he went missing.

At the time, he was driving a 2000 Dodge Avenger.

But his vehicle was discovered on December 6th near Vinton, Texas in the Franklin Mountains State Park.

The plane that had the Norcos in it flew in dark, right? But it had that marking on it.

That marking came back, the tail number came back to that company registered in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

I've researched that holding company.

I know who those owners are, but in my opinion, they have zero to do with this.

I just find this the stuff that the cartels is I've really only been involved in the last few years.

This arrest, that particular thing really got me curious.

You know, originally I thought that the plane that was registered in Ruidoso, New Mexico, was a federal asset that, you know, that that's why the tail numbers match.

But I was able to, you know, discount all that stuff.

I've looked at the, the, the maps.

Uh, I worry for Ruidoso-
