Welcome back to "First Draft." Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr. run through the top-10 selections from Field's 2027 NFL Mini Mock Draft.#nfl espn #firstdraft #nfl #nfldraft #nfldraft2026 #ncaa…
Mel Kiper Jr.HostSo, the Jets would have three picks very high, including two in the top 10 in this scenario.
I gotta say, Mel, before we get started here, the Jets obviously have a lot of work to do because-
... of the trades they made of Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner, but really good return for their GM, Darren Mougey, in those two deals.

Yes, and they have a chance to really solidify areas, mainly quarterback, obviously.

Then you think about the cornerback need, defensive tackle, other positions they could bring in, help, uh, and really enhance what was last year, when you think about what they were able to do with Bailey and Sadiq, and then Omar Cooper Jr. and the others they were able to bring in.

So, it's gonna be interesting how they maneuver, as one quarterback established as the guy that you maybe try to go up and get.

So that guy's out of the loop, and then you look at the number two quarterback, who's that gonna be? I'm just curious to see.

But how many quarterbacks do you have in there, and how do you look at the quarterbacks from a ranking standpoint? It'll be interesting to see how that comes, and then is there a running back? Do you have a Jayden Ball somewhere in the top 10?

It's easy to sit back in the cheap seats, Field, for me today, rather than actually do it like you did.

We always say, people throw off, "I like that guy, I like that guy." But you always say, what do we always say, Field? Do you have a ratings board?

It's easy to say you like this guy, you didn't like that guy, but if you rank them, it makes it a lot diff- more difficult.

You had to have your rankings board, and then you had to have your needs board, and then you have your mock draft.
