[audience cheering] Who is ready for Nicole to do us the honor of summarizing this movie? So gather around, friends, because it's story time.

I got so nervous all of a sudden.

Oh, God.

Once upon a time, in a land filled with fairy tales and Smash Mouth, there lived an ogre named Shrek who took pride in being feared and left alone in his swamp.

Until one day, Lord Farquaad, a wannabe king obsessed with making Duloc the perfect place, rounds up all the fairy tale creatures.

But who's this? Enter a talking donkey.

He can talk?

He can talk.

Ah.

And he sticks to Shrek like glue.

After Lord Farquaad has these fairy tale c- creatures dumped in Shrek's peaceful swamp, rude, Shrek heads to Duloc to demand they leave his swamp so he can have his quiet, empty space back.

But of course, Donkey decides to join this here quest.

In Duloc, Shrek accidentally interrupts a sacrifice that Farquaad is willing to make, AKA a tournament where the knights are battling WWE style for the honor of rescuing the Princess Fiona from a tower guarded by a four-legged breathing dra- fire-breathing dragon.

[laughs]

Not four-legged breathing dragon, that'd be weird.

After Farquaad sees Shrek, the ogre-whelming power that he has to offer-

[laughs]

...

he strikes a deal.

If Shrek rescues the princess, the lord will give Shrek his swamp back exactly the way it was, fairy tale creature free.

Reluctantly agreeing, Shrek and Donkey set off on their dangerous mission, navigating a crumbling bridge over a canyon moat that is literally lava, and an enormous flirtatious dragon who may or may not have taken a liking to a certain donkey.

Does that make her an ass lover?

Just like our guy Zayden.
