K-State vs. KU Preview - Ep93

Well, it's time for the Sunflower Showdown.

K-State versus KU.

K-State's 3-2.

KU is 2-3.

Wins came against Long Island, 51-6, and Middle Tennessee State, 55-0.

Losses to Arizona State, 24-17.

Missouri, 38-21.

And Utah, 41-24 last week.

17 straight for the Wildcats, looking for number 18.

Last win for KU was 2008.

I was at that game.

It was the Ron Prince is getting fired game.

It was at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas.

Never forget it.

Had great seats right behind the K-State bench, 50-yard line, courtesy of the lady that would later go to jail as a part of the KU ticket scandal.

We'll save that story for another day.

But yeah, the whole game, I'm watching us just get throttled on the field and look up into the press box, and I can see Bill Snyder, John Weefald, and Senator Pat Roberts sitting in an open-air box, Snyder's taking notes, and I thought, son of a bitch, he's coming back.

And sure enough, that's exactly what happened.

Went on Bill Snyder 2.0. And we are far, far away from that.

Chris Kleiman has come and gone after a seven-year hitch, and we are in the Colin Klein era.

Of course, Colin Klein was there in 2008, I believe, as a true freshman, standing on the sideline, didn't get any playing time, and then has been a part of the streak starting from 2009 all the way till, well, his two-year hiatus at Texas A&M.

And of course, I think he had a little bit of time away also after he graduated from But yeah, the game is back.

It's in Manhattan, Kansas.

It's on FS1, 11 a.m. Eric Collins, Spencer Tillman on the call.

K-State Radio Network, of course, with Wyatt and Stan and Matt Walters on the sideline.
