Just played the Cleveland Browns, had a pretty solid game, at least on the stat sheet.
Yeah, man, it was really exciting to see how he was designed so heavily to be basically the first target read on that entire first drive, and just kept winning.
More often than not, it wasn't even necessarily all that much he was doing from his release, but I think what you'll hear from me is that he is one of the better stem nuance receivers in the NFL.
I think he wins pretty heavily at the stem, and this is really where he creates almost all of his separation.
So he's not really winning all that much on just, like, pure, um, top-end speed, which he does have, but that's not what he's solo winning on.
Uh, outside of that first drive, uh, the one thing that I did notice, outside of them just constantly spamming Garrett, was just that Geno had timing and movement issues in the pocket.
I think this was, like, pretty expected going into the tape, but I hadn't really watched all that much of Geno.
I know we're not talking about Geno, but I do think that it impacts the overall kind of tape review of, uh, Garrett Wilson.
Second thing that I did wanna say is that he does have a pretty large kind of library of different ways that he wins at the stem.
Like, I really do love the fact that he is pretty creative at what he does, uh, with the different types of cuts, um, in-breaking routes.
He's just really efficient with his feet, and I don't think a lot of people give him enough credit for that.
Maybe he has really good zone presence, which he does, but he really does have a unique knack to just be able to create that two to three yards of separation, burst out, and then kind of get a win.
Um, I do think that sometimes he has to come back and win receptions, which prevents him from really showing that.
But he had that big touchdown play on the first drive, which basically was him doing a beautiful, uh, spin move, getting out of a tackle, then basically just pacing himself into the, the corner off of a diagonal sprint, which at first I didn't think he was going to win, but he did.
Uh, but going into the, like, individual plays, there were two big digs that I really liked, um, mainly because they were zone presence wins.
Um, so we're talking about one minute and 36 seconds left in the second quarter, 12-yard dig.
