he's vaguely fun um is how i would describe jalen daniels so six year college prospect i believe all six of those were with the kansas jayhawks he had uh in 2022 which was his true junior season kansas started 5-0 and jalen daniels was red hot and he was getting like kind of second tier heisman buzz that year i remember that was the first time i'd heard the name jalen daniels And then he ends up getting hurt.

Their season kind of goes off the rails.

Some guy named Bean ended up starting a lot of games for them.

And things didn't go quite as great.

Daniels ends up coming back the next year.

He gets hurt again.

And I think he had like three junior seasons.

So he ends up playing in total, I believe, six seasons in college for the Jayhawks.

And then finally, his last two were full seasons, but none really quite as successful as the lightning in a bottle that they had tapped into in that 2022 year.

Never had more than 2,531 passing yards.

Was a runner, but never like a particularly prolific runner.

You know, he's not like a Lamar Jackson.

He's not a Justin Fields.

Actually, Fields wasn't even that prolific of a runner in college, but whatever.

That's beside the point.

The only reason he was really on my radar is that Greg Cosell loved this guy and talked a lot about him being interesting in the pre-draft process.

Didn't get drafted, but he got signed to a UDFA deal by the Bucs and then won the job as the backup.

And that was interesting to me.

So you combine the mobility with consistency.

clearly performing well enough in camp to earn a backup job on a team that's trying to make the playoffs, or at least they were before the season as a UDFA.

That had my attention enough that he has been penciled into the last spot on my Dynasty rankings for the last few weeks.

I've had him at literally 225, so he's been in the rankings.

He was worth a late third.

I'm doing my rankings update tomorrow.

He'll be worth probably a mid-third as a just-in-case.
