Matthew Golden

I'm gonna go with another non-rookie wide receiver here.

I'm gonna go with Matthew Golden as a guy I'm keeping an eye on.

I've never been a big Matthew Golden guy.

Uh, I didn't understand it when, when he was taken.

I felt like it was too early.

May- maybe being down, I don't know.

But, uh, w- a lot more opportunity to throw the football.

So w- we'll see how it plays out, but really struggling with Matthew Golden.

Uh, here's another one that I got.

Matthew Golden or Jaden Reed, who do you trust more? This one is a little bit tricky because I don't really trust either of them if I wanted to answer the question accurately.

But rankings-wise, I do have Jaden Reed ranked ahead.

Now, long-term, I still think it is gonna be Matthew Golden because what we saw in the preseason is Golden was staying out there in two wide receiver sets, whereas Reed was coming off the field.

That was the issue with Reed in the past.

The ceiling is not the issue.

And I'm not completely sold on the wide receiving room, uh, for the Green Bay Packers.

They have a lot of speed there, obviously, with Christian Watson a- and Matthew Golden.

And, um, how is all that gonna transpire for this team? The backfield as well.

You know, with the whole Josh Jacobs situation, uh, for the, uh, Green Bay Packers there.

And I'm not saying it's more impor- I think the O line is n- number one.

Um, but, but another player I think we could be talking about one way or another on Monday, what if Matthew Golden has one catch for six yards on four targets-

Right

... and that's it? And the Packers offense doesn't look good and they lose.

Now, maybe the Packers should've been more intent on involving him in case they needed him later on, which they ultimately did, and the Packers have said that.

But last year he was more of a luxury.

Like, if everything went according to plan last year, Matthew Golden could've been an afterthought and the Packers would've been just fine.

Right.

I, I hate to say on week, in week one there's a lot riding on it, but seemingly there's a lot riding on this game, at least from the attitude of the fans, you know, in the fan base.

If Jordan Love can get time, this is the first time that he's had Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Matthew Golden all on the field the same time.

That never happened last year because of Jayden Reed's, uh, you know, collarbone injury.

So he's got those three weapons.

in the weeks ahead.

Uh, but we are also gonna lean in on Tucker Kraft, Matthew Golden, Jaden Reed, Christian Watson, Bo Melton, and so much more offensively.

Packers and Vikings, 3:25 on CBS.

Minnesota is a one-and-a-half-point favorite.

So I would not be surprised if Watson gets through week one.

But I'll be looking at Matthew Golden here.

It is a tougher matchup on paper, a little bit defensively.

Vikings can't step it up here.

Why the number zero holds the key for the Green Bay Packers offense.

And I'm not talking about Matthew Golden edition.

Of Wildey and Tausch.

A 94.5 ESPN Milwaukee, 100.5 ESPN Madison, 1430 ESPN Beaverdam.

Chris Brooks is going to be important.

Matthew Golden and Jaden Reed, they're going to be important to the quick routes.

And it's going to be interesting to see what they do throughout the game with how this old line is handling the Brian Flores blitz scheme.

Because let's say if Jordan Love actually has time to throw and he's got a good pocket, that's going to open things up for Christian Watson.

And again, hopefully at least one of those two starters or three starters can play.

And, you know, don't rule this out.

If that offensive line can do a decent job of pass protecting, Don't be surprised if they throw short a lot early and then set up the identical formation, the identical play call, but they send Christian Watson or Jaden Reed or Matthew Golden deep and try for that big splash play.
