I think we should start with probably the biggest story in the NFL over the past week, which is with Jalen Hurts, who unfortunately had initially a superficial blood clot in his calf at some point when the Eagles were in London a week ago.
It turned into a DVT, a deep vein thrombosis, which is considered significantly more dangerous.
And at some point after the Eagles arrived back in the United States, it became a pulmonary embolism, which means that the blood clot that was in Hertz's leg broke off and it went to his lungs effectively where it gets filtered out.
What you want to happen is for it not to hit the heart or the brain or places that can cause death.
For Jalen Hurts, the I guess I would say the reporting and the discussion around this has angered me for a lot of different reasons, as social media tends to do.
But I guess what I would say the long and short of it is, is that we don't have that much information right now.
What the Eagles have told us is that Hertz is going to be out for the season because he will need to be on blood thinning medication in order to ensure that the There aren't more clots and that they break up.
And while an athlete is on blood thinners, as you might remember from Chris Alave or Christian Barmore or any other number of athletes that have had similar things happen while they're on blood thinners, you can't play contact sports.
But his likelihood of playing in 2027, while certainly not 100% because every case here is different, there have been past examples of athletes like Chris Bosh where it was discovered that the clotting would never stop and that it would recur such that he would have to remain on blood thinners for life.
I guess the conversation for so does anyone want to say anything in terms of the Jalen Hurts, the real life implications of this before I like shepherd us into fantasy football discussion on Hurts? I just yeah, I'll open the floor up to that.
I didn't realize all the details, but apparently is very popular on TikTok right now, which people are completely outlining this whole situation, going really in depth with medical reports and also providing Jalen Hurts some legal advice about potentially suing the Eagles for everything that's going on.
So if you want the best news for that, although Ryan gave an excellent report, The women of TikTok, they are on the case right now.
