The Falcons offense sputtered in a sloppy, muddy mess of a game against the Bucs in Week 8. What can we take away from Atlanta's Monsoon Game, and who's to blame for the issues? Kevin Knight and…

And, you know, I think there's a couple of things that a lot of people will want to go right to in this one.

And one of those will be Michael Penix probably turning in the worst game of his career.

But I think just as much or more blame lies with the coaching staff for trying to execute the game plan that they did with him when the other team basically conceded that throwing the ball was not an option.

Maybe another quarterback does that better, but given what the Bucs did in this game, which was...

they didn't complete a pass, you know, and, and they stopped, you know, they only tried it a handful of times.

Um, most of those came in the second half when it was a little bit less rainy, but, um, you know, I think probably should have taken a cue there, uh, from, from Buck's decision to just not even try to throw the football instead of doing what the Falcons did.

But, um, you know, the, and then of course the, the run defense, cause we didn't even see that the past defense looked great in this one.

Um, no, no notes, um, This will, like, juice all of Atlanta's, like, passing defense statistics so hard it's going to be hilarious.

But, you know, the run defense obviously continued to look vulnerable, which, like, I don't really— Like, you see 324 rushing yards allowed, and you're like, wow, that was catastrophic.

I mean— this defense is not really built to play this way or play this game at all.

So it's like at the end of the day, I'm kind of like, this is probably the best case scenario for them, which was keeping this a two score game, the entire game, even though they faced 50 plus rushing attempts and the offense turned it over four times.

So I have, I have less bad things to say about the defense mostly, but, but, I guess we should start with Penix.

The discourse on Penix has always been volatile, to say the least, but this one has not helped in that regard, Trish.
