The Cult of Hockey's "Tragedy of errors as Oilers lose 7-2 to Leafs" podcast

All right, Kurt, two good things, two bad things, and two numbers.

What is your good thing?

Well, my good thing is Leon Dreisaitl, who I thought was the best Edmonton Oiler forward tonight by a country mile.

I didn't think it was close.

He scored the club's only two goals.

He had seven shots on net.

When you look at his 5-on-5 play, 58% CF 5-on-5, 65% on the dot.

He certainly wasn't perfect tonight.

No Oiler was, but he was the closest to it.

I thought he and Ryan Shea on defense were two of a very few number of Oilers who were good tonight.

And, I mean, Dreissel could have had more.

He went back to the bench a couple times earlier.

you know looking looking frustrated and look into the sky he he probably he certainly should have had three maybe four um but there were too few of him on the ice tonight

he was really good kurt i mean i just thought especially like um at even strength he was just the tower of power out there he was in on kurt on nine he helped create nine even strength grade a shots He was just protecting the puck all night long in the attacking zone.

I thought he was great.

The Oilers actually had 16 grade A shots to 11 for the Leafs.

But in the subset of the most dangerous chances, it was eight each.

And this was a night where definitely Toronto got the better goaltending, the big save goaltending.

Yes.

But I agree with you on...

Dreissel, he was just fantastic.

And it's the second game in a row.

I thought he was the best order.

He's just, he's just, uh, playing the lights out.

I guess he's tight.
