So Steve Miller was hired for the front office position for the international scouting development position for the Chicago Cubs.

I mean, comparatively to other major baseball intel guys that I follow on a regular basis, they're saying this is a tremendous move.

who has now been to the World Series three times since that 2008 season and twice since the beginning of this decade.

And obviously, the Rays have had very, very good levels of success, especially for their ball club.

And I think that's why the Cubs really wanted him because they really need to enhance that scouting and developing in the pitching area.

The Cubs have seemed to do very well developing position players from the international free agency pool.

But hopefully the Cubs can really enhance those skills and get that pitching because that's the big difference, right? When you watch the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays and the Dodgers and hell, even the Cleveland Guardians, right? And then you even think about the Braves and the Phillies and just their level of pitching.

And I don't know if they're going to be able to turn it around and get there in 2027, but they have to start building those blocks back up if they ever want a chance to hoist the Commissioner's Trophy once again.

A key move, I think, that would help the Cubs hoist that Commissioner's Trophy is the gentleman we're about to talk about in Stephen Colbert.

steven kwan is a big piece for me and i know he's not even a position he's not even a pitcher right we think the cubs need a lot of pitching the cubs still do need a bat i i don't think the cubs genuinely in their farm system believe that both the calvin alcantara and a duo of matt shaw and pedro pedro ramirez are going to get the job done in both the corner outfields i just don't believe that this is where steven kwan could be an excellent fit for the cubs I've said it before, ladies and gentlemen, and I've said it again.

What are you willing to give up for the likes of Stephen Kwan, who is going into his walk year? Okay, it's his final year on the deal.

He only has 39 career home runs, so I would imagine he's not going to cost all that much.

But Robert Murray even said that the Guardians are not even interested in potentially signing him to an extension, which is crazy to think about.
