I have some friends who have very strong opinions on this, if you're listening.
And the difference between content and copy truly is mostly entertainment versus persuasion.
Now, when I look at your website, is that content or copy? The answer is both, which is why this is a Venn diagram.
Because we're also trying to just educate people and entertain people on who we are so that they want to work with us.
But then there's things like buttons that make people say, okay, I need to click on this so that I can get on her calendar.
What I mean by computers is that it was typically seen that content would get you found.
So things like blog posts would get you found when people were searching on Google or AI.
Versus when you get somewhere and something is packed with personality rather than keywords and makes you want to buy something, that that would be copy.
So again, there's a big old Venn diagram, but the difference between a content writer and a copy tends to be pretty different.
You're going to want to hire a content writer when you are looking for somebody to write a lot of your blog posts, somebody to write articles, white papers.
Then you're going to be looking for a copywriter typically when you want to sell.
Again, there are exceptions, but now let's go through the different types of copywriters.
