Yemen: Who are the Houthis and what do they want?

Nothing has particularly outweighed anything else today, quite like Yemen and the Houthis.

And so this has been reported in lots of different directions.

Both AP and Reuters have led with it.

So this is as the Houthis have launched their latest massive wave of missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia.

And so there's an exchange of missiles again.

So to unpick.

That one today, I think, comes at a really great time, especially as the backdrop to that conflict is so complex.

But elsewhere, BBC is focusing on NATO and how NATO jets have downed a drone that's entered some Lithuanian airspace.

So lots of eyes on who was responsible in the first place.

Al Jazeera, they are leading with the talks in Geneva to put the Rwanda and DRC peace deal to the test.

The Guardian, interestingly, is going with the white South Africans denied refugee status in the US after Trump's made his big declaration, as he does.

Turns out it's not all come completely true.

The story I did enjoy in Reuters today is that Nairobi are set to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships.

So that's the first time they'll be hosted in Africa.

That is great.

Big scandal, of course, because Kenya has some doping allegations, quite a number of allegations around it.

And there are, let's say, different expected standards of that across different sporting states.

I remember it was at the last Olympics where the U.S. was absolutely livid that some Chinese athletes could participate, even though they had been doping.

And they were they kind of just explained it away as the hotel catering.

I thought that was a bit

much.

Yeah, it'll be really interesting to see how, because I know when the World Cup was on, we were talking about how it's international relations on a very, very different stage.

So I think it'll be another opportunity for that.

And I think these conversations will definitely continue around that.
