Accused of Raping Two 13-Year-Olds—Still Running for Police Chief?

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode! **When someone accused of a serious crime is still positioned to become a police chief, people are going to have questions.** In this episode of **Cold World w/ DVJ & Michelle**, DVJ discusses a shocking news story out of Elizabeth, Louisiana, involving Christopher Paul, a candidate for police chief who was arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting two 13-year-old girls roughly two decades ago. According to the news report discussed in the episode, Paul faced two counts of second-degree rape and was released on bond. Despite the allegations, he reportedly remained on track to run unopposed after his only opponent withdrew from the race. Local officials were considering changing the position from an elected office to an appointed one, raising questions about whether the change could take effect in time. DVJ reacts to the story and questions how someone facing such serious allegations can remain eligible to seek a position of public trust. The discussion also highlights an important distinction: **an arrest and criminal charges are not a conviction, and the accused is entitled to the presumption of innocence.** But the conversation doesn't stop there. DVJ and Michelle discuss Milwaukee radio, changes to local programming, and how people discover podcasts and decide which voices they want to hear. They also talk about their own show, **Cold World**, and the importance of building an audience by having honest conversations about issues that matter. The episode touches on the **No Kings rally in Milwaukee**, Wisconsin politics, the governor's race, support for David Crowley, and disagreements over who should participate in political demonstrations. There are also conversations about the Milwaukee Brewers, the World Series, sports and television ratings, and why the biggest teams don't always make for the most interesting matchups. Later, DVJ and Michelle revisit the controversial case of **Krista Pike and her failed execution attempt**, discussing the questions it raises about what happens legally when an execution procedure does not result in death. From criminal allegations and public office to politics, sports, and the death penalty, this episode asks a recurring question: **What should accountability look like when the stakes are this high?** 🎙️ **Cold World w/ DVJ & Michelle — real conversations, tough questions, no filter.** #ColdWorld #DVJAndMichelle #PoliceChief #PoliceAccountability #CriminalJustice #PresumptionOfInnocence #PublicTrust #LouisianaNews #ElizabethLouisiana #CrimeAndPolitics #JusticeSystem #Accountability #SexualAssaultAllegations #WisconsinPolitics #DavidCrowley #Milwaukee #MilwaukeePodcast #WisconsinPodcast #NoKings #NoKingsRally #KristaPike #DeathPenalty #Execution #MilwaukeeBrewers #BrewersBaseball #MilwaukeeRadio #Podcast #RealTalk #Unfiltered #NoFilter
