**How do you go from being a fan of Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart to actually meeting the man himself… and handing him a custom set of action figures made especially for him?** In Part 1 of this two-part…
This isn't going to be, hopefully, not a hugely long episode, but just to talk about, essentially, this last year, really, from September 2025.
Well, it extends back probably to around about June 25, around this whole situation, the meeting with Bret.
Bret and Owen are two of my favorite wrestlers.
I'm sure everyone loves the Hart family.
And yeah, I was sitting down indoors watching YouTube or some nonsense and I saw something pop up on Facebook for Inside the Ropes and it was an evening with Brett at the Clapham Grand in September.
And I was like, man, I have to go to that because I'm very much consciously aware that Brett is getting older.
You know, anyone of that age doing those long haul flights and stuff like that.
It's a lot to do.
And yeah, essentially, he's just like, well, I have to go meet him because, you know, he's Brett.
And those opportunities have then become less and less.
You know, for the love of wrestling, it's great what they do, but you can never guarantee who's going to be there and stuff.
So, Yeah, in my mind, I was like, right, I'm going to go and I'm going to go meet Brett.
And I took a look at the kind of price list and tickets and stuff.
And there was like a VIP meet and greet thing where it's like, yeah, you can spend, I don't know, it was like 60 quid to sit.
Or I don't know, I can't remember the exact prices, but it was one price to just have general admission.
And it was secondary price to have one thing.
And then it was like a VIP price to be the meet and greet and you get a signed thing.
And a photo with the legend himself.
And yeah, kind of my stance on meeting wrestlers has been kind of, well, two stances really.
The first stance is, you know, always treat them like human beings.
As soon as you start fanboying or fanboying over them, the interaction is lost with them because they get that all the time.
And the majority of wrestling fans seem to have that kind of mindset that they fan over these wrestlers because they are the people that they see on TV.
But if you can differentiate the people that are on TV and treat them like normal people and realize that they're actual human beings, you have a much more positive interaction.
