Now, Joe Mazzulla went on the record last week, and he said that practice is more important than the preseason games.
So I don't think we can take a ton out of the preseason, but there are some important things that we have to pay attention to.
And I think the biggest question is: how much do the dudes play? And when I say dude, I mean Jayson Tatum, Paul George, Mitchell Robinson, Derrick White, and Payton Pritchard.
With all due respect to Neemias Queta, I, I think when you look at Tatum, George, Robinson, White, and Pritchard, those are your top five guys.
So how much are those five guys going to play starting tonight? We know that Tatum and George are both going to play in preseason game number one.
George has told everybody that's been within an earshot of his voice that he feels as good as he has felt in years.
Now, of course, players say that a lot, right? So we'll have to see how this plays out.
But according to George, he physically feels the best he has felt in quite a long time.
Don't forget, that was coming off a title win, so the Celtics had played deep into June.
I would guess that Tatum plays 20 to 25 minutes in the first couple of preseason games.
As far as how many games he's going to play, back in 2024, he played four of five preseason games.
