Take Me • Genesis 44

So Joseph's brothers had this wonderful meal and celebration at Joseph's house.

Of course, they did not know that it was Joseph.

They still see him as this high Egyptian official, which he was.

He was in charge of distributing all of the grain.

He spoke very harshly to them.

They were a bit afraid of him.

So they don't know that it's Joseph, but they know that they had a great time at his house.

They enjoyed his hospitality.

They don't know why he took such an interest in them, why he brought them to his house for a meal, why he asked them about their father and took such a concern about their youngest brother, why he set them in perfect order around the table from oldest to youngest.

They just didn't know.

It was all a mystery to them.

But they had a great meal.

They enjoyed great hospitality in probably one of the finest homes in all of Egypt, except the palace itself.

And now they're being sent away back to the land of Canaan with their sacks filled with grain.

So it's all good, right? And they thought something bad was going to happen to Benjamin.

And they thought that they were going to be accused of being spies or accused of being thieves because their money was returned in their sacks.

They thought something really bad was going to happen, and yet it's all been wonderful.

It's all been great.

Their mission has been successful, and so they're returning home.

I imagine they've got a big smile on their face.

They have food so everyone can live.

They kind of whistle while you work.

Do-do-do-do-do-do-do.

They're making their way back home.

Everything is going just dandy.
