2026-27 A-Leagues Show Episode 3

Let's go to the round ball, the world game as we call it, and we'll kick it off at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.

friday night and it was a one-all draw between brisbane raw and the defending champions auckland fc in front of 7284 at suncorp same for the halloween theme nights and uh Kurt, it was a game that going into it was always going to be an important step for the Raw to see after their win against Glory, a step up against an Auckland team that were beaten very, very soundly by Western Sydney.

And so I had the making of a very, very good game just to kick off the round.

Yeah, it certainly did.

And, like, we were all pretty confident on our predictions last week, too, that they were going to put in a good shift.

And, look, from my point of view, Adam, I think they really did.

Again, we're so used to the raw previous season that we're just belting the ball long as much as they can and trying to win a lot of second balls, which...

It just doesn't feel like that type of Brisbane playing.

They should be setting up like that.

This year, it looks like they've got a system and patterns there that look like they're trying to play through the lines and go as wide as possible.

Especially even to Tate Russell on the right-hand side, Adam, which he's having a lot of success down that side.

It's pleasing to see that They've got four points from the first two games.

Now, let's see how they are on the road.

You know, we've got some big games coming up too against some pretty good opposition.

But so far, so good.

Four points.

Not embarrassed.

Two good performances that if they were more clinical on their day, they probably put the sword to Perth a lot earlier than they did.

And they put Auckland to bed earlier as well.

It was, and again, just to recap sort of at the start of the game, that the Raw were unchanged, starting 11 going after that Perth win, which is no surprise, all the ain't changed, coming from the best where Jordan Lawton came in for Emmett Shaw.

Auckland, for their part, they made two changes.

I know we did say in our preview last week when then the news broke about Sam Cosgrove.

Just quickly before we get on to the game recap, Just want to get your view on the whole kerfuffle with Sam Cosgrove getting suspended, the second player this season, to be suspended for, look, it's called a non-footballing infraction where they're serving time.

Again, Football Australia, are they getting a little bit too sensitive to a point now it is that if someone speaks out, And they don't like it that they're now getting time on the benches, which to me doesn't seem

right.
