Wollongong Wolves FC

I think it gives it some standalone power, which will be great.

Uh, they kick that season off with the Preston Lions up against the Wollongong Wolves.

And then Friday is our A-League men's season opener, the big one, the Sydney Derby on the Friday nights on the main Channel 10 on Friday night prime time, which is also brilliant.

A few more championship games on the Friday as well.

But it was like Ronaldinho or someone like that.

There was some sort of rumour that someone like that would be coming to play for Wollongong Wolves.

And that was in my head.

And then you asked the big one-time signings and the big one-game signings.

But it was like Ronaldinho or someone like that.

There was some sort of rumour that someone like that would be coming to play for Wollongong Wolves.

And...

And that was in my head, and then you asked the big one-time signings and the big one-game signings, and I'm just thinking, yeah.

Our guest today enjoyed a fantastic career that took him from the National Soccer League with St. George, Sydney Olympic and RPO Leichhardt and the Wollongong City Wolves to representing the Socceroos in Australia at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

He then became one of the most successful foreign players in Malaysian football history, scoring over 100 goals for Sabah and winning multiple Golden Boots and League titles.

Mr. Scott Ollarshaw, welcome to Beyond the Game Australia.

You know, 11 players have left the Sutherland Sharks, including Nicholas Olsen and Richard Suecki as kind of the two big main players.

Now, Nicholas Olsen is going to be playing in the championship for the Wollongong Wolves.

He's making the move back there.

But then I saw that he's going to St. George coming to start the NPL season.

But like you said, kind of Nick Olsen was that kind of marquee signing, kind of turned a lot of heads at the start of the NPL season.

And now it's doing the opposite leading into your championship.

And especially going back to Wollongong Wolves, I'm sure it's a steal for Wollongong Wolves to get a player of his caliber back into a side that, you know, he's very familiar with.

But yeah, it's just a very interesting thing what's happened at Sutherland.

Now, I'm hearing all kinds of things that players have left and going to one club, let's say Nick Olsen.

He's apparently signed up for Wollongong Wolves to play in the Australian Championships.

But on the other hand, for the NPL season 2027, he's going to be playing for St. George Saints.

This is the type of thing that we're hearing at the moment or that I'm hearing.

It is going to happen, but these will be great community events and some clubs do it really well.

It all kicks off with Preston taking on Wollongong Wolves, coached by Luke Wilkshire, on Thursday, October 15.

And those games, by the way, are on either SBS or YouTube.

direct to YouTube.

Well, I've had experience with this many years ago.

I remember being a ground announcer in Wollongong for the soccer side there, the Wolves, the Wollongong Wolves.

And the names were very long, the surnames.

And I'd be there.
