South Hobart FC

Probably when the groups came out, people were, you know, obviously excited about the group As and the group Bs.

Me personally, I was really excited about this Group D prospect, Preston Lions, Wollongong Wolves, South Hobart and Lions FC.

I think these are teams that, you know, they may not be in the limelight like the South Melbournes, the West Appias, Marconis are, but they're still strong teams.

Preston Lions obviously always pushing up.

So, uh, yeah, score- scoring goals, uh, I think is unlikely to be their challenge.

Yeah.

Now we move on to South Hobart, um, one of the, you know, more exciting teams to have in the championship, a team from Tasmania representing the Apple Isle State.

Um, it's fantastic to see them back on this stage after being in the competition last year.

That's at 3pm Sunday, 18th of October at Sydney United Sports Centre.

And then Lions FC kick off their Australia Championship campaign at home with a 6pm kickoff against South Hobart.

So that is the opening weekend.

So the ones that strike me as, you know, really interesting is Preston Wollongong is a very good one to start with.

Also at the 3pm time slot is Marconi Stallions versus Oakley Cannons at Marconi Stadium.

Canberra Croatia finish off the Saturday football with a 5pm kickoff against the Sutherland Sharks.

Before on the Sunday, you have Wollongong Wolves versus South Hobart in a repeat from last year's fixtures.

And then Sydney Olympic take on Bayswater City.

Group C, Marconi Steyn, Sydney Olympic, Bayswater City and the Oakley Cannons.

And then finally in Group D, it's Lions FC, Preston Lions, South Hobart and the Wollongong Wolves.

So there's plenty to deep dive about all those groups.

So starting off with group A, like, you know, straight out of the blocks, people were very excited about this group and as am I.

This is one that I think people are overlooking in terms of excitement for the group.

Realistically, outside of Group A, I would say this is my second favorite group out of the four groups.

So you've got Lions FC, Preston Lions, Wollongong Wolves, and South Hobart.

Now, when you look at this, the first thing I see is you've got three historic teams, three NSL teams that will compete again for the first time in many, many years.
