It's been a little while since the gang has discussed an animated Star Wars movie or series here on the couch, but Marcus promptly rectifies that mistake post-*Gundam* gauntlet with Dave Filoni's…
And I think my main takeaways, I like it.
I think the problem with many of these Star Wars spinoffs that I'm coming to realize is that They want to tell the same story most of the time.
And they don't really stretch past the tried and true mold for a lot of things.

Yes, there's a lot of the same repetition things.
We don't really see replicated in the main canon.
But in this one, I think like, okay, yeah, we've spent a lot of time with Maul in the Clone Wars.
And I think for this, we're just seeing, okay, yes, we're continuing his character arc.
He's still torn up about his brother dying.
And I think for me, like, it's hard to reconcile knowing how his story ends at the end of Rebels where he, spoilers, gets killed by Obi-Wan.
presumably not achieving that goal uh but it was fun to see him along the way i wasn't expecting him to take on an apprentice that was a pretty interesting tactic um and i do well if you've if you've seen rebels that's also not new oh i i've never watched a
whole big arc of rebels is him trying to convert the main character of rebels to be his apprentice gotcha gotcha
But I do really like the new style that they have.
The animation, of course.
I love seeing animated lightsaber battles.
It's the art as well.
It's more painterly.
Also parts of Arcane I can see reflected in the new animation style as well.
And so it was... quite literally a feast for the eyes while I was watching it.
And so I think that's the thing I like the most about this.
