So an astrologer named Steven Forrest, and some context, he is a 77-year-old white man who was one of the co-founders of evolutionary astrology.

And if you've heard of the north and south nodes being points of fate, being points of karma, this is probably the astrology that, that comes from.

Also, Pluto being about the shadow.

Uh, evolutionary astrology comes from theosophy, so this is more in, like, the modern era of astrology.

And this is why, actually, I decided to teach astrology.

Uh, the first cohort was September of 2025, because it was important for me to help others understand that astrology, the roots of Western astrology come from West Asia and North Africa.

It didn't just start in Europe or [laughs] the United States.

And a lot of our ancestors, even white Europeans, our ancestors collectively were all star people.

They looked to the stars to grow their crops, were in more of alignment with the seasons, and navigated the oceans.

And, um, for my people anyway, they used, um, celestial bodies to navigate during liberation movements.

And in an astro walk I did recently with Hike Club, I was talking about how, uh, Harriet Tubman was able to bring people under, um, under, like, the Underground Railroad using celestial navigation.

So I wanted to teach astrology from that point of view of getting all of us to remember our roots and our indigeneity, and doing this work together in a safe container.

And obviously, like, we live in the Imperial Core in a imperialist, capitalist world, and so there are no such thing as safe spaces.

We can only reduce harm at this point.

And so now that I've had this language and I've been studying and I've been embodying this, um, you know, wisdom and pairing it with astrology, I felt comfortable enough to start teaching in the fall of 2025, which is why I started Star School.

And so it wasn't surprising to me when Steven Forrest, on a recent podcast called, I believe, the Leela podcast, um, used the N-word with a hard R in front of the Black co-host.

Now, they've since taken that video down and re-uploaded it by editing out that word, and if y'all wanna watch it, uh, there is an archive of it.

Um, you can let me know in the comment section if you wanna, if you wanna watch the full episode of it.

But I'm not posting it here because it's a violent word, and I don't personally feel the need to clip it in here or, you know, like, re-share the video because, um, that's up to, um, my Black comrades if they wanna see it or not or if they wanna share it or not.

'Cause I wanna be mindful of how much we trauma dump on Black, brown, indigenous peoples' trauma.

So that happened, and he didn't...

When people, myself included, when I posted it onto Threads, when I started spreading aware- uh, along with other astrologers spreading awareness of, about it, there was a lot of pushback.

And so Steven Forrest doubled down and didn't apologize.
