Kevin and Tyler discuss the top of the East, where the Hawks fit in it, and some roster details now that the rotation is taking shape.
Kevin ChouinardHostI, I think the Hawks could absolutely be in the top four, primarily because th- the Eastern Conference as I'm seeing it, I don't think it's ever been this competitive.
Like, I, I don't know, um, the, the, the youngsters might not remember this, but in the Western Conference one year, there was a season where every team, like basically every team that made the playoffs won 50 games in the West.
Now, I don't actually think that's going to happen in the Eastern Conference primarily because the depth of quality of the teams.
W- what's gone on in the WNBA this season, um, if, if you're not aware, basically every team that made the playoffs can absolutely win the championship.
And so, like, it's eight out of the 13 or some odd teams in, in the W right now.
All of them have a legitimate shot to win a title, like, without question to me.
And I think that's the situation we find with the Eastern Conference as well where...
I mean, if you look at predictions, there's, there's some predictions where they have the Hawks, you know, 10th, you know, i- in this Eastern Conference.
And like, I, I, I think that that really does to me speak to the talent that's going on.
A- and so the differentiator, like I said in the previous pod, is gonna be injury luck and like who's the deeper teams.
And this is where the Hawks are, are... have a, I think a major advantage is that they're a deep.
This is a deep basketball team, and this is a legitimately deep basketball team.
Um, i- if you consider like where it's because of the system and because how they play offense, it's not on one guy to dictate terms.
Um, and so like they're, they, they have a breadth of talent that can fill different roles for them on a given night, a- and that gives them just more ability to solve problems on a, on a game-to-game basis.
So to me, that's where I'm like I, I feel fairly comfortable in saying I think the Hawks can make the top four.
I'm not saying they will, but I think they can be one of the four best teams in the Eastern Conference.
