Have you read the book?
I haven't read the book.
It's one of those Stephen King books I haven't got around to reading.
Obviously, he's moderately prolific, as you know, keeping up with everything he's done.
So no, but I mean, I had seen the film previously, sort of a few times in years past, but it was great to revisit.
Okay, that's
interesting.
So I'm going to throw it to Graham, who I know, like me, has read the book and has made notes on it.
I did, yeah, because I note all the books I read.
So what impressed you about the book? Oh, it's the darkness.
It really is.
So in the film, Christine is just bad to the bone and is bad from day one.
You know, on the assembly line, she's already chopping people's arms off and killing people.
That's not a spoiler.
That happens in the first two minutes.
In the book, it's a bit more in-depth and portrays Christine as a soul trap or a ghost container.
And it's a lot more spooky.
So people who've driven or died, been killed by Christine, are sort of trapped inside the car.
And you can see them sometimes.
And there's a really trippy piece in the book.
where Dennis and Arnie are driving and they're getting drunk and Dennis starts to see all these other spirits or ghosts in the car.
So it's a lot darker, but I still think the film is fantastic and a great interpretation.
Yeah, they completely change that whole perspective of LeBay, a character you don't even see in the film.
You see his brother, but not him.
And there are hints that LeBay isn't even human.
