... coming of age thing, but they all sort of get to go on their own journeys at 40, and I sort of believe that you come of age lots of different times in life.

Now, remember last time, last week, every time we were talking about the title of the episode, I got the Damn Yankees song Coming of Age in my head.

And yeah, there's a lot to really, I can see why this movie was so popular back in the day, because I think it really does help to, I don't know, it's a

very, very good example of the coming of age story.

always like the coming, like there was a lot of coming of age stories and I think some did it very successfully and some didn't.

These were your povo houses back in Sydney, which now would cost you an exceptional amount of money.

So crazy.

So Wildwood to me is, it's a coming of age story.

And it's, I think at its core is a question and that's how far would you go for love? I think it's a pretty hopeful movie.

At the center of it, we've got this character who loses someone that she really loves and she will do anything to get her kid brother back.

And it's a movie I tried to pick before, but my category was, we had a category problem with it.

But now I have one that I think it fits, which is going to be, and I'm interested to see what you'll choose, Coming of Age.

And I'm choosing the 2021 film, I Am Not a Witch.

What year? Directed by 2021.

Directed by Rugano Nioni, who of course made Unbecoming a Guinea Fowl, which we both really enjoyed.

So I figured we'd give this one a spin.

You're supposed to be the adult, but it's like, they're in a transition period because they're like young adults kind of thing.

So it's a great, it's definitely like a growing pain type of story for like a coming of age story essentially.

Um, But, like, going back slightly to Ramona asking Annie, like, to stop...

And also if you had 30 year olds that were like, if like any graduated business school, like there's no way she's not like, I have my own fucking lawyer and like gets this solved in 10 minutes.

You know what I mean? Like this wouldn't have functioned the same way.

Not that it would have been bad, but like the point of this is it's a coming of age story.

So it works better when all the characters are young.

So you've got like Sigmund, Joel, Ryan, Mark, Al, and Nishu.

And all of the boys having like their own problem, which I do like that it is a coming of age and they all have to go through their own little arcs like Sigmund reuniting with his grandfather.

By the way, crazy, crazy take because this is a kid's book and because I was a lot of like it's not a kid's book, but it's about middle schoolers.

Yeah.

I was like, okay, whatever.

I was just like, oh, let me get a creature thing.

Whenever I read that it was like coming of age after I bought it months ahead of time, like months later.

And I was like, okay, well, we can read this book because we got to go through all the books on our shelves.

Yeah.

So going with some, some big tricky stuff, you know, it's hard for anyone to, to sort of go through adolescence and coming of age, but imagine doing it.

in total isolation.

And she's kind of the one character too, that is very interested in maybe not being here anymore, going back to the mainland.
