Seattle won 20-3, and the box is worse than the score. Bob and Buk break down Sunday night at Lumen Field: Kenneth Walker had 36 yards on the way home, Patrick Mahomes threw no touchdown, and the Chiefs never reached the red zone.
Eleven first downs. 213 yards. Sixteen rushes for 50. The closest they got was Seattle’s 27. Harrison Butker’s 50-yarder was the only points. He also missed from 58 and from 45. Seattle was 0-for-3 in the red zone and still won by 17, because both of their touchdowns came from outside the 20.
Walker came in as the NFL’s leading rusher at 665. He left with 14 carries, a long of 7, and no handshake. He said he was frustrated, they were celebrating, and they outplayed Kansas City.
Mahomes was 19 of 33 for 165, a 58.3 rating, sacked once for 2 yards. He said the offense did not help Walker. Xavier Worthy had 3 catches for 11. Travis Kelce had 4 for 44 and was not the story. Noah Gray matched Kelce’s yards on 3 catches. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had 9 for 150 and the touchdown that replay gave Seattle. Kansas City is 5-1. The offense is the problem, not the record.
