Trump Returns to Texas, the FCC and Robocalls, Rubio on Western Values, and More!

Well, the president has made his third trip to Texas.

That's right.

And of course, it is because he's supporting Ken Paxton for that seat.

And Ken Paxton, loyal to Donald Trump, defending Donald Trump, speaking out for Donald Trump.

Well, he's running against a man named Talarico, who frankly is a Democrat.

And not only that, someone the Republicans absolutely abhor.

And so what is going on right now? The Republicans are dumping money into that Texas race because control of the United States Senate is critical.

Now, Paxton is a flawed candidate.

Indeed, uh, he went through an impeachment process as attorney general of the state of Texas.

He survived, but nonetheless, there's no doubt about it, he is a flawed candidate.

And yet it was Donald Trump who put Paxton in the position of being the Republican nominee for the United States Senate.

Had the incumbent been re-nominated, the whole race would have been very different.

I think there is very little doubt that Senator Cornyn would have been reelected.

But Paxton is a big if.

And so the president has now made three trips to Texas for what should be a slam dunk campaign.

And more than that, they're dumping money, millions of dollars, into trying to get Paxton elected.

Talarico is a, a candidate with some appeal, and the latest polls show him ahead.

For the Republican Party, this is a, an unmitigated disaster, particularly if you consider that they want to continue to control the United States Senate.

Remember, it is the president who nominates judges, Supreme Court, appellate court, district court.

And the president needs to have a majority in the United States Senate in order to have judges confirmed.

I know the House of Representatives is important when it comes to investigations, but for the confirmation of judges, no doubt about it.

For the Republicans, this is a critical moment.

He is scared that he may lose the Senate majority.

And that, my friends, would be astounding.
