I want this morning to address several critical issues, but I want to begin with something that so shocked me, so disturbed me that I felt this had to be at the top of the list.
You all remember that he committed the unbelievable crime of shooting up an American military base that he was stationed on.
It has now been announced by Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense, that on December the 3rd, the anniversary of that horrific attack, Nadal Hassan will face a firing squad at Fort Hood.
And when I listened to Pete Hegseth announce what will happen on December 3rd, I thought to myself, there is something incredibly wrong with what is going to happen December 3rd, unless someone steps in.
But I would suggest that Congress could also step in and at least voice a strong opinion that for the United States to allow a barbaric execution by firing squad to be live streamed to the world is a blow to all of us.
But did you watch Pete Hegseth as he announced what was going to happen? I mean, I was incredulous that this individual, who in my judgment is the most unfit person to ever be Secretary of Defense, not Secretary of War, that this person should be in charge of what would only be an act of barbarism by the United States of America.
Don't you think? So I wanted to begin by condemning the notion that on December 3rd from Fort Hood live stream, we will see an execution by firing squad in the United States of America.
The second thing I want to address this morning is Cassidy Hutchinson, who is now being investigated by a Department of Justice grand jury.
