A Reflection on the Third Anniversary of October 7

I've thought about what I should do today, but one issue overrides all the others.

And that is the third anniversary of the October 7th attack on Israel.

Three years.

Hard to believe.

And it had a huge impact on Israel, on the world, on all of us.

And what I'd like to do is to reflect with you on some basic facts.

2,100 people were killed.

They were killed by terrorists from Hamas who stormed into Israel.

22 communities in Israel were directly affected by the invasion of Hamas.

Individuals from 71 countries died because of Hamas.

And what I want to do now is to reflect with you, if I may, on why this is so significant, why it is so important, why it matters so much.

So let's begin with a reflection on history.
