the holidays, the way the Torah is structured in terms of the holidays is that it introduces all of the holidays by the fact that they have restrictions of labor.

All of the Avim Toivim have shared some connection, some similarity to Shabbat and that they are days of, that they are days of ceasing Right? Atzeres, days of stopping.

Days of stopping.

In fact, the holiday of Shavuos, that's what it's called literally.

It's called the day of stopping.

Atzeres.

But all of them have in it an aspect of Shabbos.

The Shabbos is, of course, recognizing God as the creator.

And the other yamim tovim are generally holidays that mark occasions.

Now Rosh Hashanah is unique in that we celebrate it as the day marking the creation of the world or the creation of man as we'll see.

But Rosh Hashanah in general, the Torah lists it as a day of yom teruah, a day of blasting.

And that we're going to get to the mitzvah of blowing the shofar.
