After a childhood in the South led her to DC, Jen Palmieri spent two decades inside the Clinton and Obama White Houses and at the center of presidential politics. Now she’s gone back home, traveling…
Jen PalmieriGuestSeptember is Hunger Action Month, which means it's just wrapped up, but the need certainly hasn't.
And that's why our friends at Feeding America are encouraging everyone to play their part in helping people facing hunger.
Addressing hunger is one of the most important things that we can do in society, friends.
It affects people's opportunities to succeed in their careers, at their sports, and in their lives in general.
But currently rising costs are leading to far too many people having to make tough decisions, like choosing between paying for utilities or putting food on the table.
In 2024, nearly 48 million people in the United States, including more than 14 million children, experienced food insecurity.
And today we know that's gotten far worse, but with the cancellation of so many SNAP benefits and with rising food costs and incredible pressure on households, it's costing more to be able to provide less.
And budgets in crisis are making it harder for families to afford their food while covering other essentials.
Every single contribution can help provide greater access to the food people need.
So whether it's for Hunger Action Month, or as you know that winter is approaching, I'm going to ask each of us to play our parts by donating at feedingamerica.org slash workinprogress.
I really believe that together we can make a difference and make sure families have a little bit of an easier time tomorrow than they might have had yesterday.
