England seal semi-final spot, and what the ICC's new pregnancy guidelines mean for female cricketers

Lauren, let's start with England.

We've cover off both of their games in the week since we last spoke because you were at their match against Scotland at Headingley last weekend and I was at Lord's on Wednesday when they played West Indies.

Thinking about the West Indies game to start with, I think it was almost, almost a complete performance until the second half of the West Indies innings when they dropped a couple of catches and they didn't really have an answer to Shanelle Henry and the way she was absolutely whacking it.

I do think beating them is a big tick off their list.

They were the side that beat them in the last World Cup.

They were obviously without Nat Sciver-Brunt, etc.

Um, but I think they are still searching for that completely dominant performance against the team of that kind of standard.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge was also asked in her post-match presser about, um, whether the decision to chase again means that they're short of, uh, experience in setting a target in this tournament.

Um, so I do feel like there are still a couple of questions to answer.

Yeah, I, I think firstly I'm really excited by what I'm seeing from England at the minute.

I think this is the most excited we can get in, in terms of, yeah, there's, there's still things to tick off, for sure.

Um, but England look in, in a really good spot and they're playing some awesome cricket.

I love, I'm loving what Lottie's built the team around in terms of the all-rounders.

Um, they've been better in the field, although not been perfect.

Um, but I just think there's loads to get excited about.

I think this is the best place they've ever been, um, with the probably the best player in the world hopefully, uh, yet to come back into the side.

So that's, that's like, that's the first piece.

Um, I'm really excited by what we're seeing.

It's been ...

I think it, you know, even, even we spoke about that first game against Sri Lanka, it was just the composure.

Like it was, you know, I feel like they're a side that are handling pressure better, they're adapting better.

Um, and yeah, there's still a, there's still a few hiccups, lumps and bumps in the road, but I'm not worried that we haven't had a complete performance yet.

Like I'm excited for when that complete performance may come, hopefully in a semi and a final.

Um, but yeah, I think what you want is you want enough, enough of your, um, well, I think pretty much like everybody in that batting line-up's fired now in, in some game.
