The Guyana Amazon Warriors women were taking on the Trinidad and Tobago Knight Riders women, and the Warriors women, they were batting first and managed 119.

Shamaine Campbelle would get to 31 off of 28, but a string of two wicket hauls from Shikha Pandey, Marizanne Kapp, and DeAndra Dutton would mean that it would be just the 119.

For the Knight Riders, well, it was Yaska Bhartia who opened the batting alongside Laura Harris, but neither got into the double digits, and it took until number five, Madeleine Peña, to get themselves to 28 off of 22.

And the Knight Riders, well, my oh my, they couldn't handle the pace of Shubnum Ismail, who would go three for 21, and Shamila Connell, who would go two for 12 with a maiden in her own night.

And Cricket Australia's policies are in line with other policies from the Australian Institute of Sport, so they're in line with national policies rather than cricket policies.

There was a post on Instagram by Marizanne Kapp in response to the news that Banga was cleared to play on the elite pathway pending further review, would be allowed to play in the WBBL if she was awarded a contract, where she branded that decision, uh, that shouldn't, she said that decision should not happen.

I think it's important to stress that Anaya Banga has not played any professional or elite cricket in Australia yet, and the pathways to get to that point would be the same for any other player.

And I think this issue has been massively oversimplified and presented that she is going to play in the WBBL this year.

So yeah, like, it's just that there's so much, uh, stigma and so much misinformation around, uh, trans athletes in this current political state as well, which is why it's very hard for people like us to have any sort of sp- sport to play or any chance for us to showcase our talents and be known for what we do.

And I, uh, it's inevitable that you come up against degrees of opposition.

Um, that's just the reality of the situation, and the South African player, Marizanne Kapp, um, offered her opinions, um, on your story.

Uh, what do you say to the likes of Marizanne Kapp and potentially others who will be questioning the validity of, of you, you playing in female cricket?

Bangar is a 25, 25-year-old transgender woman and the daughter of former Indian cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar.

Now, f- uh, form- I don't know, Marizanne Kapp has played a lot of Big Bash cricket, WBBL cricket, has called the decision absolutely ridiculous in an Instagram post.

And she said that she should not be permitted, transgender athletes should not be permitted to compete in women's cricket.

Obviously, Marizanne Kapp is a very respected South African women's cricketer.

And then Bangar has responded by saying that people opposing her participation should edu- educate themselves on the issue, and she has provided information showing she has no unfair advantage and is compliant with Cricket Australia's guidelines.
