Could Evan Mobley’s shooting leap finally be real?

You call them first half, second half.

I think this team has multiple personalities.

In the first half, they are lazy.

They are lackadaisical.

They are not engaged.

They are letting dudes run behind them.

After the game, Kenny was talking about how they made a defense scheme adjustment to switch more and not play so much drop, go up to the level of the screen, and not ask Peyton Watson to chase Trae Young around screens.

That's all true, but what Peyton Watson said after the game was, we didn't play hard enough.

first half.

That's what he told DAZN.

I think that's about right.

Kenny said something like that, too.

He said, we were playing like it was the old Wizards in that first half.

I'm going to be holding this team.

Like, they won tonight.

That's great.

They did what they needed to do in the second half.

But that's not the standard we're holding this team to, and it hasn't been for a while now, right? Like, I feel like this regular season for the Cavs is going to be like a college football regular season where there will be times where they win by 13 points and we'll be nitpicking them because...

There are still clear flaws that will show up down the road in games where they'll face teams that can hang with them, talent-equated teams, essentially, right? And that's what tonight felt like in that first half.

There was just so many

moments where James Harden's snoozing or guys are leaking out.

They're not running hard enough in transition.

Simple, simple stuff that I'm telling you it didn't happen tonight will bite you in the butt over the course of this season, given how deep the East is.

You just don't like that these things are still showing up.

Look, it's an October game against the Wizards.
