Join Andy & James as they recap and re-introduce the premise of War With A Mate, the last two years, and what to expect for the coming 20-30 years of playing SPI’s Campaign For North Africa every week…
Andy, what is the game?
Richard Biggs' time logic prank he dropped into the universe.
Published in 1978 by Simulations Publications, Inc., that's it a war game designed intentionally to be too big to be too much and they did exactly what they set out to do a game that they never fully play tested because it's estimated to take 1500 hours to complete and i think they just ran out of time i also think now
they just that was a random guess on time as well the fact they didn't finish it is like where did that number come from was that just based on how many turns they did up to that point Yeah, it was like, we've done 10 turns, let's just multiply
it
out or something.
Yeah, they can't have had any real idea as to what that looks like, because otherwise they would know exactly what's going on, and that there is no real end point.
The game can last as long as you want it to, realistically, because it's made up of a lot of stages.
And I have the stages up here, which give a bit of an idea of what the game looks like in terms of gameplay.
So, Andy, how about I walk us through each step of a turn?
So I just hit you with it off the top of the dome.
Okay, that's going to be incredible,
because there's like
37 steps here.
So, if you can do it...
Fuck.
So one game turn consists of the following steps.
Plan strategic air missions.
That, so yeah.
That second is, yeah.
