Because I'm a very curious person about what other people think.
Some years ago, I just put this in a search browser just to see how the autocomplete function would fill up the rest of the question if I said, why is church? Just to see what sorts of things do people search about when it comes to church.
Back then, people would apparently commonly search for this.
Why is church important? They didn't know.
Do you know why is church so boring? How many of us haven't heard perhaps our kids say that? I don't know, you know, or even this.
Interestingly enough, if you think church is actually not the building, but the people, as the Bible teaches us, then we would want to search why are Christians boring? Interesting.
What would that lead to? Why are Christians so judgmental? Why are Christians called Christians? It's a great question.
Why are they persecuted? Why are they against Halloween or against abortion? Now, yesterday I did the same thing again after some years.
Here's what I came up to.
By the way, for those of you who are techie enough, I did a kind of in-private browser setting to erase all my cookies so that it didn't just think that it knew me.
So it was a generic response that, why are churches tax exempt? That's a great question.
You can ask Chris Dickens, our treasurer this morning, about that.
Why are churches important? Why are churches dying? Are we dying? What's going on? Okay, will I not be employed for much longer? Here is a Google version of that.
I'm going to have to walk a little bit closer to read it to you.
But why are churches closing in the UK? Is this a theme in searches? What's going on? Why are churches built facing east? Are we? Okay, didn't know that.
Hopefully they found out that's not true.
But then again, why are Christians number one there? Why are they allowed to eat pork? We must know.
If you have been missing out on the bacon, come and talk to me.
Okay, afterwards.
But you see, some people have been missing out on the bacon.
There are many wrong ideas about church and about perhaps what being church means.
And that's not so good because I don't want to be whatever Netflix or Amazon Prime or whatever their shows portray church to be because it's really disheartening.
