Psalm 119

Third application is let God light it.

Psalms 119, 105.

Lamp unto my feet, light unto my path.

Notice where God lights ahead of you, your path.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119 verse 105 The commandment is a lamp and the law is light.

Proverbs 6 verse 23 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Now, follow me closely.

David says in Psalm 119, verse 45, I have liberty because I love your precepts.

I'm a free man because I love your rules.

Jesus says in John 8, you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

We go, yep, we're dealing with that thing right now, but let's remember the context.

I love that Psalm 119 says his word is a lamp to our feet.

Yep, we've got to deal with today, but it's also a light to our path.

We've got to make sure that we're acknowledging the challenges of today, but we're also in pursuit of something greater in the future.

Verses from Psalm 119.

I know, O Lord, that your judgments are right.

You have dealt graciously with your servant, according to your word, O Lord.

So the prophecy of King Lemuel's mom is, they might call it poetry, but it was written... to be a portal all the Hebrew letters the entire word of God don't think of it like ABC you know organizing it think of it more like I want the entire full power the full measure of the word of God imprinted on these words because some people they speak sarcasm they speak goofy talk they're like I didn't mean what I said when I said you know blah blah blah And so they don't really want to formally eternalize what they are saying.

But whenever you see this full Hebrew alphabet thing in the Bible, Psalm 119 is another example.

There's a couple others.

Mostly Psalms,

They weren't in the word of God on a consistent basis.

They used to be, and why is this important? Psalm 119, thy word I've hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to thy word.

The enemy does not want me in the word of God.

That's right.

We're doing Psalm 119 today.

Yep.

There are 176 verses because 176 is 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet times 8.

Each stanza has 8 verses each.

And each stanza starts with the same letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

So, for instance, if you look at the top of Psalm 119 in your Bible, the ESV, it says Aleph.

You can't see it in English, but all of these verses start with Aleph.
