Episode 83: Marcus Freeman, Sullivan Absher & Cam Williams

Uh, this is our Your Play, Your Way segment presented by True Value Hardware.

Um, we're gonna go inside six more plays this week but two are kind of bunched up again.

Let's go to the, um, the first one is the takeaway, right? Early in the game, uh, Kingston Villiamua interception.

Why don't, why don't you just show me what happens here?

Yeah.

Before I even play it I'm gonna kind of talk it through.

Like they're gonna motion this guy, okay? And, uh, hold on.

They're gonna motion this guy across and what you're gonna see is the quarterback looking is it a man defense or zone defense.

He sees us playing zone.

And what we do is we take away his first read, we take away his second read, and he tries to go to his third read and doesn't have time.

And most, uh, look, with, with the way our guys are rushing right now, you're not gonna have a lot of time to get to your third read.

And so I wanted to kind of just set it up before we play it.

So with the motion, okay, he's looking are they in man or are they in zone, right? He sets the protection.

So as you look, okay, here we go.

First read not there, second read not there.

Go to the third read which is the back and Bubacar is able to really m- make him pay.

And so, uh, I think it was just a great play of, of...

Well, uh, let me show it from this view one more time, right? The first read, now that w- I've kind of gone through it, the first read here is they wanna do a bubble and go.

I mean, a, a screen and go, right? We have that covered 'cause we're in zone defense.

Okay.

This is what he wanted first, okay? His second read is right here to the over.

Drake does a good job of taking that away and now it's over for him, right? And so-

Mm

... as you see we get a little bit of help here.

Like this is good pass rush but we get a little help from the guard kind of stepping on the tackle right there and the tackle kind of falls but that's a part of the game.
