Believing is Receiving

As I mentioned, I wanna take a slightly different approach today because as I wanna pray, I wanna make sure I get a biblical framework on the inside of you around what you need for the season ahead.

In the transition from this season, this 14 years into the next season.

Now, whether you've been here at Vibe Church for 14 years, 14 months, 14 days or 14 minutes, you are now counted in the next season.

Whether you got here at the beginning or the tail end, guess what? Great new season is beginning.

And what we need in our lives before we step foot beyond today is we need the Holy Spirit.

What we need for the season ahead is we need a feeling of the Holy Spirit.

We need a moving of the Holy Spirit.

And you might be thinking, yeah, but we needed the Holy Spirit in the last season.

You're correct.

But as much as we needed the Holy Spirit in the season before, we need the Holy Spirit more now than ever.

And I have found that over the last 14 years of building the church around the world, when it comes to being filled with the Holy Spirit, a lot of believers find it either mysterious or even sometimes confusing.

And getting clarity on this, I think will actually help us in the way that we seek God and the way that we approach God.

It's also something that the Apostle Paul saw as significantly important for the Galatians to get, which is why he is right in Galatians chapter three.

He wanted to make sure that under his apostleship, that the Galatian church were good God seekers, right? This is what he wanted to ensure, that they knew how to go after God.

In fact, you might have already noticed this from this passage, in fact, in Galatians 3, that Paul doesn't really apply any breaks when coming at them in his opening sentence.

He says it this way, he says, This is actually a weighty verse and it's severe on purpose.

In the ESV, he says, Galatians, who has bewitched you? The language he chooses is important because something had to have possessed them to begin one way only to try and continue another way.

He's actually genuinely confronted saying this can't just, I'm not confused, something has bewitched you.

He wasn't bringing unnecessary drama into the church.

He had a genuine desire to know who tricked you.

He wants to know who convinced you or better, who fooled you Galatians, believing that what was started in the spirit can somehow continue in the flesh.

In other words, what started by faith, how on earth can that continue by works? What he's not doing is he's not really coming at their intentions.

He's not condemning that.

He's confronting their approach, right? Stay with me.

Instead, we're going to build a little biblical foundation and then we'll get to the crazy stuff.
